Daniel Eckhoff

For the past six years, my main research interest has been in Augmented Reality (AR), as I believe it will revolutionize many aspects of our life.

I started my PhD in September 2019 to explore how the human brain responds to AR and how we can apply our findings to specific therapies. For this, I have started collaborating with researchers from different disciplines such as neuroscience, rehabilitation science, and psychology.

In 2018, I completed my master’s degree at the University of Oldenburg under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Hein and Prof. Christian Sandor. In my master thesis I worked on the development of a medical AR training system. The development took place in collaboration with the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan and the Graz University of Technology in Austria. Later, I evaluated the system with medical experts in Oldenburg, Germany.

Prior to my master’s degree, I completed my bachelor’s degree in computer science at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg in 2016.
