For New Members

Upon arrival

First you will have to report duty to the Human Resource Office (HRO) with your certificates, bank details and other documents.

CityU EID is your account for all university internet services, including email, WiFi and online admin systems. The HRO will give you an account name and password for account activation- keep them safe!

Your CityU ID card is usually ready for collection 1 day after arrival. Collection is at the HRO.

LAB SAFETY is serious matter here. Safety training involves an online course and a short lecture, and is compulsory for all new members. You will also have to fill in a risk assessment form to the department, reporting the experiments you are involved in and their potential risks.

BMS Smartlock access is only granted after you have your lab safety done. This allows you to enter lab facilities and other university buildings with your ID card.

Are you working with animals?

If you are planning to do animal experiments, you must obtain a license from the Department of Health, and access to LARU, the lab animal service of the university.

Ask Chloe if you have any questions!
